Intro water waves

Timeline:
Day 1:
Science (10 mins.) Intro in Innovation Center: Discuss ocean waves.
Tech (40 mins.): Students work in pairs with chromebooks in music room to play different pitches and volumes using xylophones (or other instruments – in tune and sustained sound work best) and compare waveforms. Take a screenshot (“Ctrl” & “Switch Window” with a Chromebook), rename “yourusername-oscilloscope” & print your waveform.
Science (40 mins.): Students work in pairs with a jumprope to generate waveforms and annotate amplitude and frequency with chalk. Compare energy and waveform generated.
All Reflection in Science Lab (30 mins.): Annotate with markers. Write a compare and contrast (using 4th grade graphic organizer) paragraph (either Amplitude or Freq.)
