Student Online Portfolios

Use Google Sites to make an online Portfolio:

The purpose of an online portfolio is to showcase your work to teachers, administrators, and parents. With this in mind, your portfolio should be professional and scholarly in appearance and content.

The first page you create will, by default, be your home page.

Start by editing the title and banner.

Underneath the banner, double click in the white space to add text, images, embedded items, etc.

6th Grade Genius Hour

By this time in your lives, you have developed interests and maybe even shown promise or talents in a particular field. Time is a valuable resource and becomes scarcer the older you get. I want you to use your time in this class to study, explore, and grow in an area of personal interest that is related to research, computational/digital arts and science, and develop a skill-set or knowledge base in your chosen field.

Deliverables:

-Online Learning: Class or tutorials
-Reflections
-Independent Project

The project must meet the following criteria:

– It must have a research, tech, art, or science component

– It must be rigorous

– It must have value outside of the classroom

– It must be a valuable asset towards your future

-You must find online courses/tutorials to further your learning

– It must have a quantifiable success metric
