Conductive California

Conductive California

In this project, students will create an interactive map of California using conductive paint to create circuits connected to electrodes that trigger sounds. Students will select an area in one of the 4 regions of California (desert, mountain, central valley, and the coast), create an icon and mp3 soundbite that represents that area, then add their icon to an interactive map.

Conductive Paint Tutorial

You will need mp3 audio files for your selected area of California. You can use a site like Freesound Sound Effects to search for sounds. Most sites require an email address to log in. You can preview the sound on a website, and enter the link on the form below to have the audio file downloaded. The downloaded file will be in this shared Google Folder “Conductive CA Audio files.”
