The Related Game is a multiplayer word association game developed by Chris Rosskopf (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Information We Collect

The Related Game collects limited information necessary to provide its multiplayer gameplay features.

Player Names

When you create or join a game, you enter a display name. This name is used to identify you to other participants in your game room.

You may use a nickname and are not required to provide your real name.

Anonymous Authentication

The Related Game uses Google Firebase Authentication to identify players and manage multiplayer sessions.

Firebase Authentication assigns a unique user identifier to each authenticated player. The app does not require you to create a traditional account or provide an email address or password to play.

Game Information

The app stores information necessary to coordinate multiplayer games, including:

Game room codes and room membership
Player identifiers and display names
Starting words and related-word submissions
Round history, submitted answers, and game results
Game status, round numbers, and timing information
Host assignments and submission status

Online Presence

To support multiplayer gameplay, the app stores information about player connectivity, including:

Whether a player is marked online or offline
The last time a player was active or connected
Timestamps associated with joining and participating in a game
