Working with a partner, follow Crash Courses 1 & 2, at Stencylpedia then create your own game using custom elements. Export your game as a .swf file to your DP folder, insert your .swf file onto an web page (insert>media>flash) and reply to this post with post your link and short description of how you made the game.

Nate and Will’s Game:
http://dp.hightechhigh.org/~nhinkle/freshmen/flash.html
We started with a stick man from Stencylforge. We altered his attached behaviors, by deactivated some unnecessary ones and improved others, such as: wall jumping, wall running, walking, jumping, double jumping, die in a pit and reload. Lastly, we added a countdown timer to the scene.
Maddie and Max’s Game:

We started our game using a BlueGuy and then Bloomy but those characters did not have the desired effect so we used Stick Man from Stencylforge. We used the character Mambo as the enemy and put four of him on the course we made. We started our game with a lot of unnecessary behaviors for Stick Man but then deleted them to only have behaviors to serve a purpose of the game. For a while we had a glitch when trying to kill Mambo but we fixed the coding. Finally, we added a countdown clock to the scene and put the game on loop when you die.

To make this game we started off with a template of another game and customized it. We changed the background, balloons, and the scene along with many other things. Also we added our own sounds to it.

We started off with the space game, then we change the characters to the characters from adventure time. Once we finished that we had to make the main character Finn move and shoot.

At first we had no idea what our game should be, so we looked at other games that people made on stencyl.com and one of the games were very interesting so that we based our game after their game. So we used the run and jump template and customized it to our taste. For example we changed the character and their behavior, the background and the scene.

What we did was get the original game delete everything except for the goal, and customized it to be our own design

We made the game starting from scratch. We used the same tileset used in Crash Course 1 to create the pink and yellow blocks. Then we decided to add in a grass-like background of green stripes. We used the characters Cat Enemy and Dog Enemy as our actors, although the cat was our main player instead of an enemy. We added behaviors to both actors so that the game would restart when the cat runs into the dog. We also added the behavior “Random Movement” to the dog so that it would randomly move across the scene. We also tried multiple times to make the game end when you get the cat into the square of yellow blocks. After many attempts, we finally figured out how to create a region inside the square. We used the region to make the game end and restart when the cat enters the region.

we started from scratch, we used the walking behaviors, fire weapon behaviors, and do not exit screen behaviors. we got the characters from a web comic called “Homestuck” the player is named Karkat, the enemy is named “CrabSprite”. CrabSprite can move because he has multiple gif images on the one picture. The background we got off of google, in the comic it is Karkats home. We were not able to get karkat to do his other animations so all he does is slide on the ground.

I created this game using the basic crash course model. I customized the map and characters to my liking and gave special physics attributes to each character.

From Sigi:
This game was made with different things like sound effects, picture frames, and other things. Coding was one of the hardest things to make this game because you have to apply different applications like moving controls to making the scene change after wining the game.
if anybody is interested in doing this go to this site: http://www.stencyl.com/help/view/crash-course-invaders-1/

kai and kenias game
http://dp.hightechhigh.org/~kanderson/freshman/game.html
this game was made with the test game characters and some of the test game behaviors. We put a trampoline and lamia in the game, for the trampoline we just found a picture of one and then changed the properties to make it bouncy. with lamia we took a picture of her and then recorded her laughing to add to the game we used the behaviors from the test game enemy to create her in the game.

Daniela Benson and Stevie Fox’s game.
We created this game with some help from the crash course tutorial. We changed the characters, and changed the layout of the scene. Theme of this game is Steezers. We were inspired by the social circles of Bonita Vista High School.
The objective of the game is to stomp the steezer using the snapback.
Kittens. Yolo.

This game was created by Chris Moran and I.
We used the tutorials they gave us on stencyl.com to learn how to use the program. Then once we took both crash course we used all the affects and once we figured out how to do it we jut changed a game that was created, deleted some of the characters and added a friend of ours. So that is how we created the game “The Arturo”
